Joyce Barker

Joyce Earline Barker, age 86, of Danville, VA, passed away on Friday, June 14, 2019, at Sovah-Danville.

Mrs. Barker was born on January 3, 1933, in Bedford County, VA, a daughter of the late, Otha H. Goodman, Sr. and Evie Cundiff Goodman. She lived most of her life in Danville, VA where she was employed at the Danville Public Library and attended Central Blvd. Church of God. She was married to Tillman Barker who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Barker is survived by a daughter, Judy Cross (Mac); sister, Kathy Goodman Floyd (Richard Wayne); sister-in-law, Mary Vaden Goodman and by many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her first husband, Bobby R. Pryor; and brothers, Paul James Goodman, Sr. and Otha H. Goodman, Jr.

Graveside services at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at Highland Burial Park with Reverend John Meadows officiating. Visitation will be held from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday evening at Swicegood Funeral Home.
