On Friday, May 21, 2021, Joyce Beggarly Perdue, age 75, of 209 Lipton Lane, Danville, Virginia, went to be with our Lord and Savior.
Joyce was born on February 24, 1946, to the late Johnnie Beggarly and Myrtle Brown Beggarly. She lived her life in Danville where she worked for Corning Glass for many years until retirement and was a member of Community Baptist Church. Faith and Family were foremost in Joyce’s life.
Joyce was a loving and devoted wife, mother, Nana, and friend. Her greatest joy was helping others and spending time with her family, especially her grandsons Cameron and Nick. As an avid sports fan, she loved to watch them play. Regardless of the sport, weather, or location, she would be there cheering.
Mrs. Perdue is survived by her children, Lisa Perdue Rakes (Andy) and Connie Perdue; grandson, Nicholas Rakes; and brothers David Beggarly and Barry Beggarly (Janie).
In addition to her parents, Joyce was predeceased by her loving husband Larry G. Perdue; sisters, Charlotte Gatewood, Faye Stallings, and Edith Beggarly; brother, Darden Beggarly; and her precious grandson, Cameron Rakes.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at 2PM at the Swicegood Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Coble and Reverend Butch Robinson officiating and interment following in Danville Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Monday, May 24, from 6- 7:30 PM at Swicegood Funeral Home and the family will receive visitors at other times at the residence.
