Judy South Hardy

Mrs. Judy South Hardy, age 80, of Pelham, North Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at her residence.

Mrs. Hardy was born on January 9, 1941, in Danville, Virginia, to the late Henry David South and Hallie Odell Barnes. She worked at Dan River Mills for 40 years before retirement and was a faithful member of Holland Road Baptist Church. She loved her family very much and enjoyed spending her free time in the garden.

Mrs. Hardy is survived by her son, Faron Hardy, Sr.; daughters, Shelby Durham, and Bonnie Peacock; sisters, Jewel Griffin and Jerlean Pruitt; grandchildren, Faron Hardy, Jr., Wesley Durham and Sheree Walker (Jacob); and great-grandchildren, Kaytlin Hardy, Elisabeth Hardy, Ethan Hardy, Alyssa Walker, and Thor Walker; and one great-great grandchild on the way.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hardy was predeceased by her stepfather, Steven Odell.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, July 30, 2021, at 2 PM at Holland Road Baptist with Reverend James Mayes officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 29 from 6PM to 7:30PM at the church. At other times the family will receive friends at 320 Burke Road, Pelham, North Carolina. Interment will follow in the Odell Family Cemetery (Keeling Dr., Ridgeway, Virginia).

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of Rockingham County (2150 NC Highway 65, Reidsville, North Carolina 27320).
