Obituary
Karen Elizabeth Dorton Winstead, 64, of Danville, VA passed away peacefully at her home September 19, 2022 after an eight year battle with Brain Cancer. She was born March 26, 1958 to Charles Elmer Dorton and Margaret Anne Jones Dorton in Richlands, VA.
She graduated GWHS, Class of 1976 and earned her Associates from DCC. She was a long time member of Saint Luke’s Methodist Church.
Karen was predeceased by her son, Adam Clark Winstead, father and mother Charles and Margaret Dorton. She is survived by her husband, Clark Towles Winstead and son Benjamin Winstead (Amanda), three grandchildren, Rayah, Roman and Zion; sister’s Nina and Mary Dorton along with extended family.
Karen enjoyed interior design, traveling, riding motorcycles and spending time with her husband of 45 years. She loved and enjoyed her children and grandchildren.
A service will be held Friday, September 23, 2022 at 3:00 pm at Swicegood Funeral Home with visitation at 2pm.
