Ms. Kathy Shope Widener, age 61, of Danville, VA, passed away on Friday, November 27, 2020 at SOVAH-Health Danville, Danville, VA.
She was born on October 10, 1959, to late Edd Richard Shope and Mildred Stump Shope.
Ms. Widener worked at Danville Neurology Associates for 25 plus years, as a Medical Assistant. She was a member of Shermont Baptist Church. Ms. Widener always has a smile on her face, and she loved her Lord. She made sure that her granddaughters attended Sunday services at Shermont and youth services on Wednesday nights. Mrs. Widener loved to shop and take her granddaughters on vacation. The biggest dream she had was to marry the love of her life, her fiancé, Leonard Warner, once she had gotten well. Ms. Widener was a graduate of George Washington High School.
She is survived by her fiancé, Leonard Warner; twin granddaughters, Nathalie and McKenzie and their mother, Sarah Motley; life-long friend, Erica Reynold and her husband, John; the father of her granddaughters, Bryant Rouse; second mother, Betty Smith and her son, Barry; coworkers and special friends, Edee Boitnott and Pam Harris; special friend, Whitney Dalton; pets, Lilly, Cotton, and Smudge; and many church friends and church family.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 05, 2020 at Mt. View Cemetery with Rev. Ryan Riley officiating.
The family request that attendees wear mask out of respect for the family and other attendees.
