Lawrence Arnold Butler

Mr. Lawrence Arnold Butler, age 94, of Sutherlin, VA, passed away on Saturday, April 03, 2021 at Riverside Health and Rehabilitation.

He was born on May 23, 1926, in Draper, NC, to the late Frank D. Butler and Vera Robertson Butler.

Mr. Butler was a farmer, and he was a member of Kerns Memorial United Methodist Church. He served his country in the United States Army, during WWII.

He is survived by his stepson, Mr. Charles Woodson and his wife, Jeanette, of Yanceyville, NC; his stepdaughter, Nancy McBride, of Danville, VA; and step daughter-in-law, Chrys Woodson.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Butler was predeceased by his wife, Frances Moore Butler; brother, Howard Butler; and stepson, Harold Woodson.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00   p.m. on Monday, April 12, 2021 at Mt. View Cemetery with Reverend Bob Huffman officiating. Military honors will be performed by the United States Army and American Legion Post 1097.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donation be made to a charity of your choice.

Due to COVID restrictions and guidelines, attendees are asked to wear a mask and practice social distasting.
