Leland Bell

Leland Bell, age 83, of 107 Stanley Ct. Danville, VA, passed away on Friday, August 13, 2021, at Sovah Health-Danville.

Mr. Bell was born on November 6, 1937, in Piedmont, South Carolina, a son of the late Hugh Sanders, Mozelle Cox Sanders and Charlie Bell. He lived most of his life in Danville where he was employed with Dan River Mills for forty nine years. After his retirement from Dan River Mills, he was employed as a school bus driver for the Danville City Schools. Mr. Bell was married to Jo Ann Daniel Bell who survives and was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Bell is survived by his children, Sherrie Francis, Sharon Gammon (Paul), and Leland R. Bell; grandchildren, Timothy Gammon, Victoria Harris (Zac), Adam Francis (Deceased), Daniel Francis, Will Gammon, Tatiana Terry, and Kennedi Brown; sister, Rosemary Southard (Wayne); half-sisters, Darlene B. Luker, Denise Ausburn; special uncle and aunt, Olin and Linda Bell; and a special fur baby, Coco.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, August 16, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Swicegood Funeral Home with Reverend Bob Yeaman officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at the funeral home and at other times the family will be at the residence. Interment will follow the service in Danville Memorial Gardens.
