Leonard Allen Gauldin, 81 years young, peacefully passed away at home and entered heaven’s gate on January 27, 2023.
Leonard was born on July 06, 1941, to the late Jessie E. Gauldin and Minnie Walker Gauldin.
Leonard loved his family, fishing, traveling, dancing, laughter and having a good time. He never met a stranger and made many friends everywhere he went. He had a green thumb and could grow just about anything and enjoyed gardening and landscaping. If you had a flower bed, watch out, it would be a garden by summer’s end. Always enjoyed his 1966 Chevy Pickup, riding in parades and going to car shows. He worked in Dan River Mills and retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Danville Virginia as a Bead Flapper. Leonard also completed programs in Horticulture and Landscaping at Rockingham Community College. He stayed active by going to the Danville YMCA. He was a member of Poquoson Tribe 124 and voted Red Man of the Year 2022.
Leonard is survived by his three daughters Tina Keels; Elizabeth Hurd and husband Robert; Lana Shivley and husband Tim; granddaughter Ann Marie Hurd; grandsons James Gauldin; Robert Wesley Hurd; Douglas Shivley; brothers Irvin Gauldin; Kenneth Gauldin and wife Peggy; sister Linda Gauldin.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by former wife Marie Dickerson Gauldin; brothers Jessie, Ernest, Hubert, Luther Gauldin; sisters Pauline Ketchum, Mamie New, Frances Meeks, Gloria Adkins, Gladys Sparks, Delores Crabb, and Carolyn Ware.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday January 31, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Swicegood Funeral Home with Pastor Austin Merricks officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Rockingham County 2150 NC HWY 65 Reidsville NC 27320.
