Lilly Belle Ferrell

Lilly Belle Ferrell, age 95, of Danville, went to be with her Lord and savior on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at her residence. 

She was born in Wellsburg, WV on December 28, 1927, the daughter of Beulah Jane McCreary and Leonard William Wareham.  Lilly was married to Thomas Ferrell, Sr. who predeceased her. 

Lilly will be remembered as a selfless person with a pure heart.  She was one of the founding members of the first Community Christmas Dinners; served as the Director of Contact Crisis Suicide Prevention Line and ran many clothes and food closets.  Lilly enjoyed visiting the shut ins from church with her special friend, Pat Penny.

She is survived by her children, Idar Marie Stout, Thomas Ferrell, Jr.,  Christina Perkins, and Peter Luikert;  one sister, Sue Ellen Wilson;  ten grandchildren;  four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.  In addition to her parents and husband, Lilly was predeceased by five children, Robert Ferrell, Butch Ferrell, Michael Ferrell, Alexia Luikert and Pamela Morris,  and two grandchildren, Glenn Thomas, Jr. and Courtnie Ferrell.

Funeral service for Lilly will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at Barker Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment will follow at Highland Burial Park.  The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 P.M. on Friday, January 20, 2023 at Barker Funeral Home Chapel.  At other times, the family will be at the residence.
