Margie Ann Elliott Waters Rowland

Margie Ann Elliott Waters Rowland, age 82, of Danville, passed away on Thursday, June 14, 2018

at Sovah Health of Danville, VA.  Margie was born on May 8, 1936 in Danville to Claude H. Elliott

and Sadie Bradley Elliott.   In March 1970, she married Ernest L. Rowland, Jr. who predeceased her

in September 20, 2004.  She was known as “Aunt Margie” to her family. Margie loved to work puzzle

Books and watch the Washington Nationals.

She retired as bookkeeper for K-Mart after 27 years of service, and was of the Baptist faith.

Margie is survived by her children, Kathy Waters Davis (Randy) of Danville, Keith L. Waters (Nancy)

of Danville, and Louis Michael Rowland (Julia) of Virginia Beach, VA.  Also surviving are her

grandchildren, Jay Randall Davis of Danville, Emily Waters Sparks of Danville, Keith L. Waters, Jr.

(Chloe) of Harrisonburg, VA, Rachel Waters Hudson (Joseph) of Front Royal, VA, and Regan, Peyton,
 
and Rory Roberts of Virginia Beach, VA.; great-grandchildren, Hailey and Kirsten Sparks of Danville,

Gabriel Hudson of Front Royal, Va, and Baby Waters who is due to arrive in November, 2018.

Other survivors include her siblings, Grover S. Elliott of Greenville, SC, and Linda Lewis Elliott

 Buchanan of Madison Heights, Va.  In addition to her husband and Parents, Margie was predeceased

 by several step-brothers and sisters.

Graveside services for Mrs. Rowland will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 18, 2018 at

Highland Burial Park with the Reverend Freddie Vicks officiating.  The family will receive friends

At Barker Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, June 17, 2018 from 6 – 7:30 p.m.  At other times, the

Family will be at the home of Keith L. Waters, 149 North Avenue, Danville, The family respectfully
