Martha Atkins Turner, age 64, of 1369 Hwy. 86 N, Yanceyville, N.C. went to her heavenly home on Sunday, February 11, 2018, at the Brian Center in Yanceyville. Born in Danville on May 29, 1953, she was the daughter of the late James Daniel Atkins and Mattie Lee Green Atkins. She was married to Lewis F Turner who survives her. She was a member of Beluah Baptist Church in Yanceyville. She had worked as an office assistant for Danville Wrought Iron, and was a CNA.
In addition to her husband of 47 years, Mrs. Turner is survived by her children, Melinda Khedr (Michael Mitchell) and James Franklin Turner (Alicia); four grandchildren, Shawn, Ayden, Savannah, and Piper; one brother, Wayne Atkins; and an uncle, Bill Atkins. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Janice Gustaveno; and a grandson, Jaxon
Funeral services for Mrs. Turner will be held on Friday, February 16, 2018, 2 p.m., at Barker Funeral Home Chapel with the Chaplain David Fox officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Burial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service, and at other times will be at the home of James Franklin Turner, 717 Hines Hatchett Road, Yanceyville.
