Marty Joe Wallace, 47, of Blairs, Va., went to his heavenly home Saturday, June 4, 2022, after a courageous four-and-a-half-year battle with cancer.
Marty was born in Danville, Va., on June 30, 1974, to Raymond and Jerrine Wallace. He was a graduate of Tunstall High School, and employed by Adams Construction, Roanoke, Va. until March 2022.
In addition to being a loving husband, father, son, sibling, and friend, he was first and foremost a follower of Christ and always shared his love for the Lord and the word of God, which was his strength during the lengthy battle he so patiently endured.
He will be profoundly missed by his loving family: his wife, Rachel Wallace and son, Noah Wallace, his parents, Raymond and Jerrine Wallace, Brothers, Danny Wallace (Amanda), Johnny Wallace (Wendy), sisters, Robyn Wallace, Kathy Johnson (Jonathan), Karen Reynolds, and Jennifer Evans (Bobby), his Pacifico family and many nieces and nephews.
Marty's wife and family would like to extend a special thank you to Commonwealth Hospice and his nurse Jeanette Pierce, for their impeccable care and services. Also, Pastors Dewayne Kelly (Lisa) and Justin Johnson (Beth), and their members for their ceaseless support in countless ways.
A homecoming service will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2022, at 2pm, with visitation beginning at 1pm, at Emmanuel Pentecostal Holiness Church, with Pastor Matthew Pacifico officiating. Interment will follow at Emmanuel Pentecostal Holiness Church cemetery.
