Mary Margaret Dorton

Mary Margaret Dorton, 58, of Danville, VA died February 9th at SOVAH Health in Danville. She was born in Richmond, VA to the late Charles E & Margaret J Dorton.

Mary attended Danville Public Schools, graduating from GWHS in 1983. She worked at various places over the years, but fondly remembered her time as a waitress at Long River. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.

She was predeceased by her parents; sister, Karen D Winstead; nephew Adam C Winstead; great-nephew Zion Winstead. She is survived by her son Ethan (Rebecca); grandson, Charlie; sister, Nina Dorton all of Danville; nephew, Ben Winstead (Amanda); great-niece & nephew, Rayah Winstead & Roman Simmons of Oak Island, NC.

Mary enjoyed spending time with her mom, son & grandson. She loved reading, playing cards with friends and always enjoyed a good laugh.

Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, February 11, 2023, at 2pm at Swicegood Funeral Home with Reverend Phillip Hale officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service.
