Nancy Sally Emerson

Nancy Sally Emerson, age 75, of Danville, VA, finally lost her battle with cancer on May 10, 2018 at her residence.

Mrs. Emerson was born on December 20, 1942, in Danville, VA, to the late Hassell Christopher Sally, Sr. and Gladys Hamlett Sally.

In 1964, she married Ronnie W. Emerson who preceded her in death in 2001. Nancy and Ronnie lived and worked in Northern, VA, until they moved back to Danville in 1995. She retired from the City of Danville Utilities Customer Service Department after 21 years of service and was of the Baptist faith.

Mrs. Emerson is survived by one brother, Hassell C. “H.C.” Sally, Jr.; two sisters-in-law, Anne Emerson Reeves and Wanda Emerson Rowland (Richard); uncles, David Sally (Everlene) and Billy Hamlett; special friend, Sherry Smith; and many loved nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Swicegood Funeral Home with the Reverend Meredith Williams officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p .m., at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the residence. Interment will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens.
