Nancy Pauline “Polly” Mangus Phelps of 193 Locust Lane, Danville, Virginia, passed away on April 19, 2021 at her residence after a decline in health.
She was born on December 31, 1938, to the late Wirth Marshall Mangus and Pluma Brook Cecil Mangus. She lived most of her life in Danville where she was of the Baptist faith and supported the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Calvin Phelps and son, William Calvin Phelps. As the last surviving member of her immediate family, she is predeceased by her sisters, Vera Mangus Sowers and Betty Mae Mangus; and brothers, William “Esau” Mangus, Jacob Mangus, and David Ray Mangus.
Mrs. Phelps is survived by her daughter, Katherine Phelps Blair, and husband Wade Blair; grandchildren, Casey Blair Hamlett (Dustin Hamlett), Ethan Wade Blair, and DeAnna Sue Phelps; and great-grandchildren, Jackson Wade Hamlett and Lilly-Ann Brooks Hamlett. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions there will be a private family service.
