Patricia Cox Akers

Mrs. Patricia Cox Akers, age 65, of Danville, Virginia, passed on January 24, 2021 at her residence.

Mrs. Akers was born on March 5, 1955, in Danville, to the late Milburn Cox (“Droopy”) and Della Thurman Cox.

Mrs. Akers lived her life in Danville where she was a graduate of George Washington Highschool and earned a secretarial certificate at DCC. She loved crafting and being with friends and family. She was of the Baptist faith. 

Mrs. Akers is survived by her children, Jessica Gourley (Kristy), Kristin Harris (Andy); stepchildren, Brandon Akers, Joshua Akers (Davina); sisters, Carolyn Holcombe, Judy Cox Luther; sister-in-law, Susan Cox Humphries; grandchildren, Allyson Rocha, Austin Harris; great-grandson, Preston LaPoint; also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Akers was predeceased by her husband, David Akers; sister, Susan Cox Smith; brother, Denny Cox; nephew, Joey Bennett.

No formal services will be conducted at this time.
