Obituary

Mr. Paul Daniel Carney, age 45, of Axton, VA, passed away on April 26, 2022, at Sovah Health Danville.

Mr. Carney was born on November 29, 1976, in Topeka Kansas, to Steven and Teresa Carney.

Paul received a silver medal in special Olympics for bowling. When he received his GED, he received a letter from President Clinton in 1996.

In addition to his parents, Paul is survived by sisters, Kathleen Johnson and husband Philip, Mary Stowe and husband Brad; nieces and nephews, Kathryn Stowe, Grace Stowe, Dacota Johnson, Chloie Johnson and Skyler Johnson.  Paul was of the Catholic faith.

Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 02, 2022, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Anthony Senyah officiating. Interment will follow at Stowe family cemetery in Dry Fork, Virginia.

Swicegood Funeral Service is respectfully serving the Carney family.

 In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Brosville Volunteer Fire Department at 11912 Martinsville Hwy, Danville, VA 24541.
