Raymond Lester Gammon

Mr. Raymond Lester Gammon, age 84, of Danville, Virginia, passed on February 24, 2021 at SOVAH Health of Danville.

Mr. Gammon was born on October 24, 1936, in Pittsylvania County, Virginia, to the late Seward Lester “Buck” Gammon and Pearl Beggarly Gammon.

Mr. Gammon was a hardworking farmer and was of the Christian faith.

Mr. Gammon is survived by his stepchildren, Carol Walker (Gary), Joseph Martin (Paula), and Robert Martin (Anita); he is also survived by five step grandchildren, one niece, and four nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Gammon was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy Maiden Gammon; brothers, Edmond Gammon and William Gammon; and sisters, Lorine Wentz, Ruby G. Moss, and Elizabeth G. Custer.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 2 PM at the Gammon Family Cemetery with Doctor Charles Scearce officiating.
