Robert Lynn Jones

Robert Lynn Jones, of Danville, Virginia, passed away peacefully at his home on February 1, 2026. He was born on May 21, 1962, in Danville to the late Lacy Jones, Sr. and Katherine Collins Jones.

Robert had a lifelong love for baseball, especially enjoying the history and stories behind the game through his cherished baseball card collection. Many years ago, he proudly volunteered his time keeping statistics for the Danville Braves, a role he truly enjoyed. Beyond baseball, Robert was an avid reader and movie watcher, always finding comfort and enjoyment in a good book or film.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his brothers, Lacy Jones, Jr. and William Jones, and his sister, Marianne Jones.

He is survived by his sister-in-law, Elizabeth Jones; his nephew, Shawn Jones (Jennifer); his nieces, Kim Tate (Dave) and Tiffany Reeves (Korrie); and his great-niece and great-nephew, Addison and Bryson Jones, all of whom will cherish his memory.

A celebration of Robert’s life will be held at a later date.
