Robert Edwin Tuthill

Robert Edwin Tuthill, 71, passed away on Wednesday evening, April 21, 2021, after a brief illness at his residence in Troutville, Virginia.

Born July 5, 1949 in Geneva, New York, Robert was the son of Harry Edwin Tuthill and Marguerite Estes Tuthill.   A few years later his family moved to Ithaca, NY.  He graduated from Ithaca High School in 1967.

Robert attended Rochester Institute of Technology and graduated as an Associate in Applied Science in 1969 and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics in 1971.  He worked at the Ithaca Gun Company as a Pinkerton Guard before enlisting in the United States Air Force in 1974.  After being honorably discharged, he lived in Danville, Virginia near his parents.  After the death of his mother in 2001, he moved to Troutville.

Robert Tuthill is survived by his sister Mary Tuthill Schwartz, her husband Bradley, two nephews, Brendan T. Schwartz (Juliana) and Joel B. Schwartz (Karren), and a grandnephew Gael C. Schwartz.

Private funeral arrangements will be handled by Barker Funeral Home.  A memorial service will be held at a later date.
