Ruby Ann (Young) Adkins

Ruby Ann Young Adkins, age 82, of Danville, VA, passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2022, at Roman Eagle Health and Rehab.

Mrs. Adkins was born on March 18, 1940, in Ferrum, VA, a daughter of the late Henry William Young and Mamie Gusler Young Marshall.

Mrs. Adkins lived most of her life in Danville where she was employed at Dan River Mills.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Adkins was predeceased by her husband, Harold Lee Adkins; brother, Dillard Young; sister, Edna Young; and granddaughter, Hope Kennon.

Mrs. Adkins is survived by her children, Patricia Redd and her husband Mike and Allan Adkins; brother, Curtis Young (Glenna); sister, Becky Barber; grandchildren, Holly Layne, Jamison Layne (Maddy); great grandchildren, Elijah Tiefenauer, and Dixie Layne; step-grandchildren, Lewis Redd, and Lisa Shorter (John);  and step-great grandson, Trevor Redd; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday November 17, 2022, at 1:00pm at Swicegood Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service. Interment will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens.
