Ruth Bright Duncan Turner

Ruth Bright Duncan Turner, of Danville, Virginia, passed away on Sunday September 11, 2022 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Ruth was born in Danville, Virginia to the late Cardwell Towler and Mary Davis Towler.

Mrs. Duncan worked as a Caregiver until her retirement.

Ruth is survived by her husband Johnny Turner; daughter, Judy Duncan Gibbs; son Doug Duncan (Becky); sister Edna Turner; grandchildren, Tina Underwood (Brad), Randy Duncan (Tammy), Tonya Gandy (Bryant), Tanya Gibbs “Sissy”, and Ronnie Duncan; Great-grandchildren, Harley Underwood, Austin Underwood, Olivia Griffin, Peyton Burnett, Lane Duncan, Adam Duncan, Casey Duncan, Kayla Gibbs, Brian Jones and Little Ronnie Duncan; and Great-great grandchildren Parker Johnson and Kinsley Taylor.

In addition to her parents Ruth was predeceased by her first husband Melvin Duncan; sons, Ronnie Duncan and Steve Duncan; son in law Sonny Gibbs; daughter in law Bonnie Duncan; and sisters, Ola Motley and Frances Goggins

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday September 14, 2022 at Swicegood Funeral Home at 2:00 PM with Reverend Bill Goggins officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Danville Memorial Gardens. At other times the family will receive family and friends at the residence of Katanya Gibbs at 4631 Walter Mills Road, Providence, NC 27315.
