Samuel Edward "Tony" Atkins

Mr. Samuel Edward “Tony” Atkins, Jr., Age 84, of 2841 Robin Hood Road, Callands, VA, went to meet his Lord and savior on Monday, August 6, 2018 at SOVAH in Danville.

He was born in Danville on December 29, 1933, to Samuel E. Atkins, Sr., and Helen Atkins Tinsley, and had spent most of his life in Danville..  Mr. Atkins was married to Lillian

Reynolds Atkins who predeceased him .  He was an avid outdoorsman;  retired from the City of Danville Electric Department, and was of the Christian faith.

Survivors include his children, Eddie Atkins (Patty), Debbie Atkins Wall, and Tony Atkins; also five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren;  his brother, Wayne Atkins (Carole), as well as a special friend, Dorothy Davidson. 

Funeral services for Mr. Atkins will be held on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at Barker Funeral Home Chapel with Dean Ashby, Minister, and Pastor Daniel Lackey officiating.

Interment will follow in Highland Burial Park.  The family will receive friends at Barker Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 from 6:30 – 8:00 P.M., and at other +times will be at  213 Parrish Road, Danville, VA.
