Mrs. Shelby Gammon, age 83, of Danville, Virginia, passed on January 24, 2021 at SOVAH Health in Danville.
Mrs. Gammon was born on January 7, 1938 in Danville to the late Richard Powell and Inez London Powell.
Mrs. Gammon spent her time as a loving homemaker and friend to many. She was married to Carl Gammon who passed on March 4, 2002. She was a 1956 graduate of Brosville Highschool. She attended Westover Hills Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was a master seamstress and made clothes for many family and friends. Prior to having children of her own, she was a foster parent to many children. She was also a babysitter to many children in the community. She was known for her love of children and her homemade biscuits.
Mrs. Gammon is survived by her children, Scott Gammon and wife, Kristen, Brad Gammon, Gary Gammon; grandchildren, Colleen Gammon, Stephen Gammon, Megan Gammon, Mary Gammon; greatgrandchild, Jase Roman; brother, David Powell; and sister, Brenda Dix.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gammon was predeceased by her loving husband, Carl Gammon.
Graveside services will be conducted Thursday, January 28th at 2 PM at the Gammon Family Cemetery with Reverend Stephen White officiating.
