Virginia Ann Boulware

On Thursday, October 19, 2023, Virginia Turpin Boulware, loving wife and mother, passed away at the age of 87 at Sovah Hospital surrounded by her children.

Virginia was born on January 23, 1936 in Danville, VA to Jack Turpin and Elizabeth Hall Turpin Finney. In 1954, she graduated from George Washington High School and on August 6, 1955, she married her high school sweetheart, Donald Boulware. Together, they raised two children, Dean and Leslie.

Virginia loved music & dancing, playing on her iPad, her crafts (back in the day) and her poodle Sophie. She was known for her sense of humor, her infectious smile, and her kind and compassionate spirit.

Virginia was a faithful member of Stokesland Baptist Church for 64 years. She worked at First National Bank for 37 years and was able to retire when she was 55, going on to enjoy her golden years with Don.

Virginia was preceded in death by her father, Jack, her mother, Elizabeth, and sister, Delores. She is survived by her two children, Dean (Eddie) and Leslie, her nieces, Valerie and Becky, and their families.​

Visitation will be held at 1 o’ clock on Monday, October 23nd, 2023 at Swicegood-Barker Funeral Home, 564 W. Main Street, Danville, VA with a funeral at 2 o’ clock. Graveside service to follow at Highland Burial Park.
