Bertha Louise Motley Triplett left this earthly life for her heavenly home on Friday, April 22, 2016 at her residence.

Mrs. Triplett was born May 27, 1926 to Charlie and Maggie (Barbour) Motley.

She was a homemaker and worked in the spinning room at Dan River Mills for 30 plus years. Mrs. Triplett was a member of Anderson Chapel United Methodist Church. She helped with VBS in years passed. She was a great wife, mother, mother-in-law, granny, and great-granny to all. She married the love of her life Edward T. Triplett Sr. on April 15, 1949.

Mrs. Triplett is survived by her only son, Edward T. Triplett Jr. and his wife Barbara (Holland) Triplett of Axton; one daughter, Susan (Triplett) Coleman and husband Danny of Dry Fork; grandchildren, Christy and John Coleman (Amber); great-grandchildren, Bailey, Makayla, and Ian.

She was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers. Left to remember her is her sister, Alice Hopkins and brother, Abra Motley (Brooks); sisters-in-law, Thelma and Carolyn; a hugh number of nieces, nephews, and friends. Mrs. Triplett also leaves behind friends and special caregivers, Lillian Myers and Sandra Callaway.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 25, 2016 at Anderson United Methodist Church with Rev. Wayne Moore officiating. Visitation will be held from 7:00 until 8:30 p .m. at Swicegood Funeral Home on Sunday, April 24, 2016. At other times, the family will be at 4528 Still Meadow Rd, Axton, VA. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Go Doc’s and Commonwealth Home Care for the special care Mrs. Triplett received during her days of sickness.
