Brenda Jane Southern, 65, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, February 13, 2015 at her home.  She was born in Danville on December 18, 1949 to Marion Brown Southern and the late Lonnie Southern.  Brenda was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed going to church.  She enjoyed working crossword puzzles and reading in her spare time.  Brenda had a very kind spirit about her that showed through her personality toward everyone she met.  She was a loving mother, grandmother that lived life to the fullest.  Brenda will be missed by all that knew her.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, Brent Robertson and wife, Susan of Ringgold; one grandson, Hunter Robertson; one step-grandson, Lance Barbour; and several special cousins, Alice Robertson, Susie Lawson, Roger Fulp, Pansey Gordy, Lonnie Gauldin, Tommy Gauldin, and an abundance of friends.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 15, 2015 from 6-8 pm in the Swicegood Funeral Home Chapel and other times at the home of the son (2522 Mt. Hill Road, Ringgold, VA). A funeral celebration of life will be conducted on Monday, February 16, 2015 at 2:00 pm in the Swicegood Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Arnold Faw officiating.  Interment will follow the funeral service in Danville Memorial Gardens.

The family wishes to thank all the family and friends for all the help, cards, phone calls and prayers during Brenda’s sickness.
