Corrine Wood Divers Hodge, was born December 23, 1936 in Pittsylvania County, Va., and departed this life on Sunday, October 23, 2016 at the Danville Regional Medical Center.

She is the daughter of the late James E. Wood and Pauline Ferrell Wood.

Corrine accepted Christ into her life at an early age. She joined the Kentuck Missionary Baptist Church, and later joined the Sandy Creek Baptist Church.  She enjoyed life, attending church and being with her family was her favorite things to do. 

She was married first to the late Freddie Divers, to this union three children were born, and later married the Rev. Hayward Hodge, two children were born to this union.

In addition to her parents and first husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Rosa D. Terry, and Vicky D. Saunders, two sisters, Frances and Sally, one brother, Percy Wood.

Forever cherishing her memories are her husband, Rev. Hayward Hodge, of the residence, one daughter, Jennie Hodge of Danville, Va., two sons, Preston Hodge of Greensboro, N.C., and Vernon Divers of Newport News, Va., one step daughter, Deborah Beechman (J. D.) of Maryland, two sisters, Gloria (Sules) Davis of Danville, Eunice Wood of Baltimore, one brother Neal Wood, of Baltimore, Maryland, seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Grandma, we will always remember that special smile, that caring heart, your warm embrace you always gave us.  You have been there for all of us, through good and bad times, no matter what.  We will always remember you grandma, because there will never be another person to replace you in our hearts and the love we will always have for you.
