Mr. Harry Thomas Reed, age 70, of 285 Strader Street, Chatham, VA, passed away on June 26, 2016 at Lynchburg, VA.

He was born on August 15, 1945 to the late Wyatt Thomas Reed and Sallie Elizabeth Elder Reed.

Mr. Reed worked in the heating and air industry and attended Gretna Church of God.

He is survived by his loving wife of almost fifty years, Essie Almond Reed of the home; sons, Earl Wayne Reed and his wife Michelle of Lynch Station, VA, and Brian Lee Reed of Chatham; sisters, Margaret Helmick of Staton, VA, and Minnie Dowdy of Altavista, VA.

In addition to his parents Mr. Reed was preceded in death by his brothers, Paul Reed and Norman Reed; sisters Connie Reynolds and Gloria Reynolds; and his son, Jason Scott Reed.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, June 30, 2016 at 2 pm at Gretna Church of God, with Rev. Albert Moser officiating.  Interment will follow at Bethany Pentecostal Holiness Church, 1180 Narrow Passage Rd, Spout Springs, VA. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service. The Family will be located at 505 Wileman Rd, Lynch Station, VA.
