Janie Estelle Adkins, age 78, of Danville, died on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at Riverside Health and Rehab Center.  Born in Pittsylvania County on July 2, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Elijah Adkins and Mary Adkins Adkins.  She had worked in the weave room of Dan River, Inc. a number of years.  Miss Adkins is survived by her sisters, Helen Holley of Providence, Elizabeth Lawson of Danville, and Beatrice Langford, also of Danville.  She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Dorothy Adkins and Minnie Mayzelle Adkins Hutson.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 9, 2015 from 6 – 7:00 P.M. at Barker Funeral Home Chapel.
