Mabel Walker Paschal, 93, of 9063 NC Hwy 700, Ruffin, NC, passed away February 28, 2015 at Morehead Nursing Center in Eden, NC. 

A celebration of life will be held Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Hickory Grove United Methodist Church with the Reverend Lee Eggers officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Burial Park in Danville, VA. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Hickory Grove United Methodist Church.

Mabel was born May 18, 1921 in Franklin County, VA, to the late William and Maude Adams Walker. Her working days were spent with Dan River Mills and Dr. George Snead Dental Practice from which she retired. She was married to the late William “Bill” Paschal for 66 years. She was a member of Hickory Grove United Methodist Church where she was active with Sunday School, United Methodist Women and Senior Citizens Lunch Program. She held various church offices and served on many committees through the years. She was also an active member of the Happy Home Extension Homemakers and Christian Women’s. She enjoyed bowling and was a member of the Danville Women’s Bowling Association Hall of Fame. She also enjoyed sewing, knitting, cooking, canning, freezing, and most of all spending time with her family and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, William “Billy” Paschal, Jr,; brothers, Willie, Jim, Turner and Jeff Walker; sisters, Evelyn Hall, Ellen Brumfield, and Ada Pleasant.

She is survived by her sister, Mildred W. Thomas; sister-in-law, Jerrine Walker both of Danville, VA; many beloved nieces and nephews; her special church and community families and her special “daughter”, Cynthia Boyd and husband, Tony of   Camano Island, WA.

The family expresses much gratitude to the staff of Morehead Nursing Center for the care, kindness, and compassion provided during her time there. May God Bless You All.
