Mr. Robert Poindexter, age 81, of 143 Greenwich Avenue, Danville, VA, died on November 24, 2015 at Danville Regional Medical Center, Danville, VA.

Mr. Poindexter was born on August 22, 1934, in Danville, VA, to the late Luther H. Poindexter and Willeana Ross Poindexter. He lived his entire life in Danville, was very active in horse shows, had a passion for showing horses and was of the Presbyterian faith.

Mr. Poindexter is survived by his nephew, Mike Poindexter of Boise, Idaho. In addition to his parents Mr. Poindexter was predeceased by Sister Francis P. Mitchell.

Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. in Highland Burial Cemetery with Rev. Myron Bruce officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 1, 2015 6:00 until 8:00 P.M.
