Vera Green Arnn of 350 Lumpkin Rd. E., Leesburg, Georgia formerly of 365 Arnn Lane, Danville, Virginia died April 16, 2015 in Lee County Health and Rehab. She had been a patient there for the last four months.

The funeral services will be held Monday, April 20 at 11 AM at Swicegood Funeral Home with interment in Mountain View Cemetery, Danville, Virginia. The reverend Robert Hardy IV and Elder Mark Terry will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to services.

Mrs. Arnn was born July 18, 1918 in Pittsylvania County to the late Jessie L. and Ola Blair Green. She was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Ashby Wright Arnn. She lived most of her life in the Vance Community where she was a member of Sharon Baptist Church and attended Cannan Primitive Baptist, the last few years she lived in Virginia. She was a weaver in Dan River Cotton Mills in her younger years and was later employed by the Pittsylvania County School System, where she worked until her retirement in 1982. Due to ill health Mr. and Mrs. Arnn moved to Leesburg in 2006 to live with their daughter and son-in-law.

Survivors include a daughter, Joyce Smith (John); two grandchildren, Lynn Smith (Susan) and Laura Cloud (Tony); four great-grandchildren, Luke Smith (Heather), John Ashby Smith, Connor Cloud and Kyle Cloud all of Leesburg, Georgia; a sister-in-law, Betty A. Ward (Bobby) of Daniels, West Virginia and a Brother-in-Law, Gene Arnn (Maudie) of Biloxi, Mississippi.

In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by a daughter, Connie Jo Arnn and two brothers, Irvin and P.D. Green.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tunstall Fire and Rescue, P.O. Box 575, Danville, Virginia or to your favorite charity.
