It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear mother, Virginia, on

Saturday, February 4, 2017 in Kindred Hospital, Greensboro. Mom was born December 14,

1929 to Marvin and Mary Blackwell Wolfe. Mom lived most of her life in Danville and retired

from Dan River Mills. She resided at Heritage Towers.

Mother is survived by us, her two sons, William Wall(Kathy) and Joe Wall (Tammy). Also

surviving are her brothers Albert and Eugene Wolfe, and her sister Rosie Turner. Many nieces

and nephews also survive. Mom was married to William "Buster" Wall who died in 1995.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters Catherine W. Coleman and Helen

W. Cruff, along with her brothers; Frank, James, and Charles Wolfe. Mom is also survived by

two dedicated ladies; Tammy Boyd, "little girl" as Mom would call her, and Robin Lewis, her

nurse, best friend, and confidant. Won't nobody like her Robin. Both of these ladies went above

and beyond as caregivers and friends over the past decade. Most recently Mom was blessed by

the addition of Tina Jeffries, her daily helping hand and companion.

Mother loved to fish, grow rose bushes and flowers. She raised Dachshund puppies when

she lived on Blue Jay St. Later in life she loved listening to the preaching and singing on the

Jimmy Swaggart program. Mother was a very loving and generous soul. She sacrificed many

times so my brother and I, as kids, could have some foolish toy or a pair of Converse sneakers.

The kind that all the other kids had. She worked 6 and 7 days a week in the cotton mill to pay

the bills and raise her boys. We never realized until later in life what a hero our mother was. For

that we will never be able to thank you enough Momma. Go now and accept your wings. You

certainly earned them.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Hallmark Home Health for their service and care

along with the ladies at Heritage Towers who would check in on Mom from time to time.

Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. with the Reverend Duane Blevins officiating. Visitation will be held Monday, February 6, 2017 at Swicegood Funeral Home; from 6:30 until 8:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Highland Burial Park.
