Mrs. Vivian Christine Reed Garrett, age 89, of Roman Eagle Health and Rehabilitation, Danville, VA, passed away on Sunday February 12, 2017 at Danville Regional Medical Center, Danville, VA.

Mrs. Garrett was born on April 28, 1927, in Danville, VA, to the late Charles William Reed and Ida Bell Melvin.

She worked as a Secretary/Bookkeeper and was of the Christian faith. She attended Schoolfield High School and graduated from Averett University in 1947.

Mrs. Garrett is survived by her children, Charles Garrett (Robin), Michael Garrett (Terri), Penny Davis (Larry), and Candy Garrett (Barry); grandchildren, Chris Garrett, Eddie Sparrow, Madison Garrett; great-grandchildren, Taylor Garrett and Parker Garrett; and sister-in-law, Brenda Odum.

Memorial services will be conducted Sunday, February 19, 2017 at 2pm at Swicegood Funeral Home with the Reverend Mike Wiles officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Roman Eagle Health and Rehabilitation, 2526 North Main Street, Danville, VA 24540 or DAV (Disabled American Veterans), NSO 4575 VA Roanoke DAV, 210 Franklin Rd, SW RM 808, Roanoke ,VA 24011 – 2209.
