Diane Leona DeMers Grimmer, 77, passed away on August 26, 2015 at Danville Regional Medical Center.  She was born on April 13, 1938 in Governors Island, NY to the late Albert and Simone DeMers.  Diane was a beloved Mother and Mema to everyone.  She retired from Macy’s as an assistant manager and buyer.  Her love of Christmas and her famous displays will be greatly missed at Macy’s.  Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her beloved husbands, Melvin W. Grimmer and Joseph DeFazio and her sister, Jeanne Acerra.  Diane’s zest of life will be greatly missed.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Denise Marcotte, William G. Grimmer, Richard J. Grimmer and Mary King; grandchildren, Jessica, Stephanie, Vernon, Merissa and Deanna; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Dylan, Isabella, Madelynne, James and Joseph.  Along with her own children, she leaves behind countless children and grandchildren, she called her own.

A memorial service will be conducted on Friday, August 28, 2015 at 7:00 pm at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, followed by receiving of friends.  Services in New Jersey will be conducted on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Dorthea’s Catholic Church in Eatontown, New Jersey. A wake will follow at Zachary’s in West Long Branch, New Jersey.
