Dorothy Elaine Beverly of 133 Noel Avenue, Danville VA, died Friday June 26, 2015 at Stratford Health Care Center after a two week decline in health. She was born September 9, 1949 to the late Noah Beverly and Vera Mae Ferguson Beverly. She was born in Danville, VA and raised at Hughes School. She went to Fisherville VA and was certified to be a caregiver. She lived in and cared for many ladies. Dorothy loved everyone and never met a stranger and she also had a special love for animals. She attended Calvary Baptist Church.

She is survived by her sisters, Louise Wilkerson, Peggy B. Pruitt and Shirley Green of Danville, VA and Nora B. Hough of Charlotte, NC; her brother, Billy W. Beverly and wife Dianne of Danville, VA; six nieces, three nephews; her special dog, Polosa and her cat, Teddy Bear.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her nephew, Martin James Hough and her brother-in-law, Robert Hough.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, June 29, 2015 at 2 PM at Calvary Baptist Church with Reverend Rick Markham officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service at the church and other times at the home of Billy Beverly, 202 Melrose Drive. Interment will follow in Schoolfield Cemetery, Danville, VA.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Peggy Pruitt of the residence for the care of Polosa and Teddy Bear.
