Everett Nelson Wilson, age 88, passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at Danville Regional Medical Center after four years of declining health.

Nelson was born in Cascade, VA, on March 22, 1928, the son of the late Pose Lester Wilson and Ellen White Wilson. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1946 to 1948. Nelson was an agent for Peoples Life Insurance Company for forty years. He was a member of the Civitan Club and and the Improved Order of the Red Men. 

Nelson is survived by his sons, Ricky Lane Wilson and Everett Nelson Wilson II, and his two grandsons, Eric Wilson and Evan McNealy, all of Danville, VA. He is also survived by his sister, Katherine Wright Shelton. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Virginia Chumbley and his brother, Malcolm “Mac” Wilson. 

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Swicegood Funeral Home with the Reverend Bob Yeaman officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 1:00 to 2:00 PM. Interment will follow in Highland Burial Park.
