Mr. James William Cassell, Sr., 87, of 621 Berry Hill Road, South Boston, VA, died on April 16, 2015 at Halifax Regional Hospital. He was born on April 26, 1927, in Schoolfield, Virginia, to the late John William and Lena Cooper Cassell. Mr. Williams worked as an electrician at I.B.E.W before retiring and was of the Baptist Faith.

He is survived by a daughter, Lisa Cassell Harris of Danville; a brother, Bill Cassell of Danville; a granddaughter, Courtney Harris of Danville and several nephews.

In addition to his parents Mr. Cassell was predeceased by his wife, Doris Jane Wyrick Cassell; ; two sons, James William Cassell and Gregory Allen Cassell ; two sisters, Frances Jennings and Lois Martin and his brother, Leonard “Link” Cassell.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
