Mr. Kenneth Wayne Ketchum, age 76, of Danville, Va., peacefully passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2017, at Danville Regional Medical Center with special loved ones by his side.

Mr. Ketchum was born on November 20, 1940, in Washington County, Va., to the late Ernest Ketchum and Ora Bowman Ketchum.

Mr. Ketchum retired from Dan River Mills in 2001, where he was a Pipe Fitter in #5 Pipe Shop for the majority of his working years there. In his earlier years, he was an over the road truck driver for Roy Stone based out of Martinsville, Va. Mr. Ketchum attended State Line Baptist Church.

Mr. Ketchum is survived by his daughter, Amy Ketchum of Danville, VA and his four legged grand baby, “Ally Belle”; special caregiver, Linda Holland (Amy’s mother) of Danville; his sisters, Mary Lou Cook (Thomas Cook) and Dorothy Cassady, both of Pelham, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Ketchum was predeceased by his brothers, Harold Ketchum and Ralph Ketchum.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 23, 2017, at Swicegood Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Wallace and the Rev. Bill Soyars, Jr. officiating. Visitation will be held from 7 until 9 p.m. on Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at Swicegood Funeral Home, and at other times the family will receive friends at his daughter, Amy's home, 294 Linden Dr. Interment will be held on Friday, March 24, 2017, at 2:00 PM in Valley View Cemetery, 14074 Rich Valley Rd, Abingdon, VA 24210.
