Lisa Corinne Bowden, age 35, of 1332 Hobson Rd., Axton, Va., formerly of Clarksville, Va., died on Monday, April 10, 2017, at Martinsville  Memorial Hospital.

Lisa was born on March 2, 1982, in South Boston, Va, a daughter of the late Johnny Bowden, Jr. and Phyllis Brown Cross.  She was a member of Buffalo Baptist Church.  She was a graduate of Bluestone High School in Skipwith, Va.

In addition to her mother and step-father, Larry Cross, she is survived by her children, Nathaniel Chessman, son of Bill Chessman, and  Adali Bowden, daughter of Eric Wright; her brothers, John Bowden and his children, Jacob, Michael, and Hannah, and Joseph Bowden; her sister, Kara Bowden; her step-brothers, Jamie Cross and Thomas Cross; her step-sister, Angela Garcia; her grandmothers, Betty Brown, of Martinsville and Barbara Fox of Roxboro, N.C.; and numerous beloved aunts, uncles and cousins.  In addition to her father, she was predeceased by her grandfathers, Roy Brown of Martinsville and Johnnie  Bowden of Clarksville; and her nephew, Christopher Bowden.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, April 14, 2017, at 2 p.m. at Faith Memorial Baptist Church, Danville, Va., with the Reverend Daniel Lackey officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow the service in the McMillion Family Cemetery in Axton.
