Mary Lee Miller Carter, 86, passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at Inova Fairfax Oaks Hospital in Fairfax, VA.  She was born in Eden, NC on November 11, 1928 to the late Harry B. Miller and the late Mary Newman Miller.  Mary had lived in Fairfax, VA since 1957.  She worked for Ted Britt Ford until she retired at the age of 68.  Mary will be greatly missed.  Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, John William Carter who died on February 16, 1998; and her sister, Claudia Miller Watkins.

Mary is survived by her two daughters, Mary Elizabeth Carter of Duncan, SC and Claudia Lee Brown of Richmond, VA; her son, John William Carter of Fairfax, VA; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday, May 29, 2015 from 6-8pm in the Swicegood Funeral Home Chapel.  A graveside service will be conducted on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at 1:00 pm in the County Line Christian Church Cemetery.
