Robert “Duncan” Wallace, age 55, of Pelham, NC, passed away on September 19, 2016 at Annie Penn Hospital in Reidsville, NC.

He was born on October 27, 1960, Danville, VA, to the late Burris Duncan Wallace and Leila Mae Donehue Wallace.

Duncan worked for the North Carolina Department of Corrections for many years before his retirement. He was a past member of the Pelham Volunteer Fire Department. Robert loved to go fishing at Ocracoke, and his nieces, nephew, and great nieces where the love of his life.

He is survived by his brother, Billy Joe Wallace and wife Cathy of Pelham, NC; sisters, Glenda Cardwell and husband Brandon of Reidsville, NC and Ruth Rivers of Locust, NC; nephew, Nick Rice of Chery Grove, NC; nieces, Jennifer Wallace and Melissa Hazelwood of Pelham, NC; great-nieces, Miranda Wallace, Addison Grove, Kati and Maddi Rice; cousin, Florence Ann Davis, whom Duncan was caretaker of; and close family friend, Holden Mangrum.

A celebration of Duncan’s life will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Swicegood Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Durham and Rev. Roy Jones officiating. At other times, the family will be at the residence, 337 Pelham Loop Rd, Pelham, NC. Interment will be private at a later date.
