My thoughts and prayers go out to the Winstead family. I always enjoyed our banking transactions from the old days of the downtown First National and all the bank mergers. He was always a pleasure to wait on and one of those customers that left you with a smile. He will be missed by many.

My thoughts and prayer are with the Winstead who will see him again. He was a true man of integrity, honor, worthy of respect. Loved by a city full of grateful people, gone but never forgotten.

To Carolyn - The Days of the Island and the Jeep are always close at hand.
Love you girl!

Hi Rocky and Sharron,
Thanks so much for your kind words about Daddy. I am getting out of Roman Eagle Rehab on Wednesday. I broke my hip four days after his funeral. God was good every step of his dying days, and even through this month of recovery. I finally looked at these notes on the web site, and it has been a time of tears, but still sweet. I'd love to see y'all. God Bless!

Our heartfelt sympathy at the passing of your very special Father! Your father was instrumental in adding an amazing amount of love, fun and 'work' to the lives of a lot of folks! I add the 'work' as a reminder of his magical way of adding knowledge of what kept him going .... sharing his knowledge of fishing, crabbing, helping to clear and clean land for Selah. planting walnuts on the island opposite Craigs' island .. then having a 'planking'.cooking and eating fish on the river bank! Some of the best fish we had eaten (got home and looked at our black/dirty hands!). Your dad had a heart as 'big as all outdoors'! He shared his knowledge, his talents, his willing generosity with everyone! He spread joy in so many ways. A true blessing!

How does a person minimize years of respect, appreciation and camaraderie in just a few words! Therit Winstead touched so many lives and shared so many treasures in his lifetime, it is hard to simplify. We count our blessings for his friendship. Our thoughts and prayers are with each member of his family for many memories and pleasant thoughts to linger for always! May God bless each and everyone of you!
