Thomas Daniel “Danny” Pruitt, age 44, of Ringgold, VA, passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at his residence.

He was born on June 14, 1972, in Danville, Virginia, to Doris Pruitt and the late Mervin Ray Pruitt.

Danny graduated from Montgomery Community College, Troy, NC on January 16, 1991. He was employed by Kenny’s Body Shop, as an auto body repairman for 10 years.

He is survived by his mother, Doris Pruitt, of Sutherlin, VA; long-time companion, Ashley Ellis Jones; brothers, Mervin Ray Pruitt, Jr and fiancé, Elizabeth Walker, of Danville, VA, and Ronald Alan Pruitt and fiancé, Jennifer Peak, of Sutherlin, VA; sister, Rhonda Lynn Pruitt, of Farmville, VA; and his beloved pets, Sparkplug and Sir Lancelot.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Swicegood Funeral Home with Rev. Betsy Moss officiating. A private interment will take place following the service in the Pruitt Family Cemetery, Sutherlin, VA. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
