I am truly sorry for your loss. I work as a security guard at Wal-Mart that is where I met Vic. I didn't know him but a short period of time but in that time I could tell he was a great person which such a great personality. He would always speak and have a smile on his face. At times when I took my rounds around the store i would see Vic and speak and we would start up a conversation. I could tell he had a heart of gold. I remember when he would go on his break at work we would speak to each other and I would ask how is he doing and Vic's reply would be "I don't know yet will tell you later "and of course he had a smile on his face. When time for him to get off he would answer that he would say "I'm doing Better Now and we would both would laugh. I pray that the family will find comfort during this difficult time. Trust in God and each other. Vic will be missed. RIP my friend such a beautiful soul

I was so saddened to hear about Victor. We first met at JTCC in class. We were amazed to find out our hometowns were so close, Danvile and South Boston. I will always remember the laughs and jokes and conversations we shared before or on breaks from classes. My prayers go out to all of the family. May you find comfort and strength from God in your time of loss.

I am devastated to learn of Victor's passing. We shared many conversations during my time as Dept. Chair of the Funeral Services Program at John Tyler. I am confident that Victor is safe in the arms of Jesus.

I am deeply saddened to hear about Vic's passing. I had the pleasure of attending classes with Vic at JTCC and enjoyed the talks we had from time to time. We talked about school, the Dallas Cowboys, and most importantly how much we loved our families. He will be greatly missed and I pray that God holds your family close during this difficult time.

Aunt Jewel, Sandra and Taylor and family, I am so very sorry for the loss of Victor. I am so sad that I could not be there for you during this tragic loss as I am traveling this month with Terren.
Nothing ever prepares you for losing someone that you love, especially when you lose a child or a parent.
We all have suffered from the loss of so many of the Merchants, but I know full well that this loss for Taylor is especially hard to deal with. As a young woman, losing your Daddy is not something that you even believe is possible.
I know it sounds like hollow words but time will help. Just keep busy, cry as much as you need to and one day you will realize that you will be able to live and be happy again. You have lots of family and friends and even though we are cousins and have not met in person yet, Taylor, I am here for you. We are family and I I have grown to love you over the past few years.
Hug each other for me and I love you all so much.
