On March 19, 2015, William (Bill) Berkley Harris, of Walters Mill Road, Providence, N.C. Departed this world and entered into eternal life in Heaven with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Bill was born in Danville, VA on September 10, 1945 to the late Berkley Harris and Frances Walker Harris. Bill was married to Carolyn Farthing Harris, who also predeceased him.

Bill worked for the North Carolina Department of Corrections for more than 20 years. Following his retirement, he became an avid bowler, enjoying league bowling, tournaments and fellowship with his extended family at Riverside Bowling Center.

He faithfully attended Holland Road Baptist Church and loved, and was deeply loved by, his church family. Bill was a strong witness for Jesus Christ and expressed his Christian love and concern for others through his city-wide gospel tract ministry.

Left to cherish his memory is his daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Mike Hoover; his grandson, Michael Lee Hoover; his granddaughter, Amber Hoover; his sister, Ruth Hankins, and his sweetheart, Rosemerry Keys, along with so many people whose lives have been touched by knowing Bill.

Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Holland Road Baptist Church and other times at his home. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 22, 2015 at Holland Road Baptist Church with Rev. James Mayes officiating. Interment will follow the service in Mountain View Cemetery.
