Oscar Pena, age 96, of 2445 Mt. Cross Rd., Danville, VA, died on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at Riverside Health Care Center.

He was born on May 28, 1919, in El Paso, TX, to the late Bunkishi Suzuki and Mary Pena.

Oscar worked as a bartender and restaurant manager and was of the Catholic faith. He was also a veteran of the United States Army in the infantry division during WWII.

He is survived by his daughters, Judy Pena and Marie Pena of the residence and son, Michael Pena of Danville, VA.; sisters Eustolia Kregal of TX and Carmen Flores of TX.

In addition to his parents Mr. Pena was predeceased by his wife, Evelyn Pena and brothers, Emilio Pena, Ismael Pena, and Arnold Pena.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at Swicegood Funeral Home with Rev. Father Jonathan Goertz officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Highland Burial Park.
