Patti Dodd Paxton Walton, age 86, of 231 Ridge St. Apt. 215, Danville, VA, died on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at Danville Regional Medical Center.

She was born on September 20, 1928, in Danville, VA, to the late Silas Jones Dodd and Lillie Blair Dodd.

Mrs. Walton was a self-employed business owner and was of the Baptist faith. She was a prestigious member of Personalities of the South due to service to the community. Mrs. Walton also was distinguished for her efforts with church, education, The Arts, Civic, Business, Youth, Volunteer, which were all organization both locally and nationally. She was a loving and caring person and the last of her generation.

She is survived by her daughter, Wyona Paxton Witcher of Danville, VA; grandson, William Paxton Witcher; granddaughter, Emily Blair Neal (Bryan Roper); step-grandchildren, Amber Walton and Kellum Walton; sister-in-law, Dorothy Paxton McDaniel; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents Mrs. Walton was predeceased by her first husband, William Jennings Paxton Jr.; second husband, John Kellum Walton; daughter, Wanda Blair Paxton Neal; and nine brothers and sisters.

A memorial service will be conducted 4:00 p.m. Sunday, April 19, 2015 at Swansonville Holiness Church with Rev. Mike Hearp officiating. A visitation will be held from 2:30 until 3:30 p.m. at the church on Sunday, April 19, 2015. Interment will be private.
