Chester "Gene" Eugene Hyler, age 75, of Danville, VA, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday November 26, 2017 at his residence.

Mr. Hyler was born on September 21, 1942 in Danville, VA, a son of the late, Chester W. Hyler and Elsie Rush Hyler who survives. He lived his life in Danville, VA, and was a graduate of Brosville High School. Mr. Hyler was employed as a customer service manager with Nationwide Homes in Martinsville, VA, and was a member of Central Baptist Church in Axton, VA.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Louise P. Hyler of the residence; two sons, David E. Hyler and wife Amy Leigh and William P. Hyler and wife Teresa, both of Danville, VA; one daughter, Amy Carol Hyler Hylton and husband David, of Ringgold, VA; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Swicegood Funeral Home with the Reverend Daniel Lackey and Reverend Scott Audirsch officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens.
